DUBAI – After days of heavy rain, thunder and lightning sweeping across the United Arab Emirates (UAE), residents are now looking ahead to calmer skies.

The recent spell of unstable weather reached its peak early Friday, but forecasts indicate that a significant shift is imminent.

According to the National Centre of Meteorology, the storm system is in its final phase, with conditions expected to improve steadily from Friday evening onwards.

Storm clearing

The final band of rain has been moving eastwards, affecting areas such as Al Ain and Fujairah before gradually clearing out of the country. As this system exits, the rest of the UAE is expected to experience a return to dry and stable conditions.

By Friday night, skies are forecast to clear, marking the end of the current bout of unstable weather.

Weekend shift

Saturday will bring noticeably improved conditions, with partly sunny skies and a cooler, breezy atmosphere. The chance of rain will drop significantly compared to previous days.

Temperatures are expected to range between 25°C during the day and 19°C at night, offering a more comfortable climate across the emirates.

Sunday will continue this trend, with mostly sunny skies and light winds. Conditions will stabilise further, with temperatures rising slightly to between 26°C and 27°C.

Rising warmth

From Monday onwards, a gradual warming trend will set in. Dry conditions will dominate, with partly sunny skies and increasing temperatures.

Forecast highlights include:

  • Monday: Around 28°C with clear, dry weather
  • Tuesday: Near 29°C with slight haze
  • Wednesday: 29-30°C with some cloud cover

While Wednesday may see a slight return of instability, any thunderstorms are expected to be mild and far less intense than the recent system.

Late week

By Thursday and Friday, temperatures are expected to climb further, signalling a transition towards warmer seasonal conditions.

  • Thursday: 31-33°C, sunny and dry
  • Friday: 34-35°C, mostly sunny

These conditions suggest the gradual onset of warmer weather typical of the region as summer approaches.

Wind conditions

Winds will ease significantly after Friday, shifting from strong gusts to mild breezes. This will improve visibility and reduce dust levels across open areas.

Sea conditions, which have been rough during the storm, are also expected to stabilise as winds weaken.

Outlook ahead

The forecast indicates a clear return to normal weather patterns across the UAE, with bright skies and rising temperatures dominating the coming days.

Although brief midweek cloud activity is possible, it is unlikely to disrupt the overall stable trend expected through the week.
