Four Dubai beaches reserved for families during New Year 2026 holidays
Restrictions apply across December 31 and January 1
DUBAI will reserve four of its most popular public beaches exclusively for families during the New Year holidays 2026, as part of a broader strategy to ensure safety, comfort and smooth crowd management during one of the busiest periods of the year.
Dubai Municipality confirmed that the family-only policy will be enforced from December 31, 2025, through January 1, 2026, coinciding with New Year’s Eve celebrations and the public holiday that follows. The decision applies to both residents and visitors planning to spend the festive period along the city’s coastline.
The beaches designated for family access only include Jumeirah Beach 2, Jumeirah Beach 3, Umm Suqeim Beach 1, and Umm Suqeim Beach. Authorities have advised families to arrive early, as demand is expected to be high during the holiday period.

The move reflects Dubai’s continued focus on providing family-friendly recreational spaces, particularly during major public events that attract large crowds. Officials say the measure aims to create a relaxed and secure environment for families wishing to celebrate the New Year by the sea, whether through leisure activities, picnics, or beachside gatherings.
The family-only designation will remain in place throughout both days, allowing parents and children to enjoy uninterrupted access to the facilities without overcrowding. Beachgoers are expected to comply with regulations issued by authorities, including entry controls and safety guidelines.

Dubai Municipality said the decision forms part of a comprehensive readiness plan developed in full coordination with Dubai Police, the Roads and Transport Authority, and the Dubai Resilience Centre. The plan focuses on managing public spaces during peak festive hours while maintaining high standards of safety and comfort.
The readiness strategy extends beyond beaches and includes public parks, recreational facilities, waste management operations, public health oversight, and food safety inspections. Officials have indicated that enhanced monitoring and operational support will be deployed across key locations to ensure seamless New Year celebrations.
New Year celebrations
Families heading to the beaches are also expected to benefit from extended operating hours at several public parks across the city during the holiday period. Popular venues are anticipated to draw large crowds, particularly on New Year’s Eve.
Those planning to attend celebrations near Zabeel Park are expected to witness New Year fireworks and a drone show at Dubai Frame, which remains a focal point of citywide festivities. Authorities have advised residents and visitors to plan their travel in advance, as road closures and transport adjustments are typically implemented across major celebration zones during New Year’s Eve.
