Celebratory flypast adds aviation flair to Dubai’s biggest sports festival
DUBAI – Emirates Dubai 7s spectators were treated to a breathtaking display as an Emirates A380 performed a low-altitude flypast to mark the UAE’s 54th Eid Al Etihad celebration.
The aircraft took off from Dubai International Airport and made its stunning approach over The Sevens Stadium at exactly 4:30pm.
Thousands of fans watched as the world’s largest passenger aircraft flew just 500 feet above the ground, drawing cheers across the venue.

The flypast was expertly commanded by Captain Mubarak Al Mheiri, Deputy Chief Pilot Airbus, with support from Captain Khalid Bin Sultan, Captain Philippe Lombet, and Captain Nabil Al Rustamani. Their coordinated execution highlighted the precision and expertise required for such a close-proximity aerial manoeuvre.
The moment underscored Emirates’ longstanding tradition of celebrating Eid Al Etihad through iconic aerial displays.
