UAE-Thailand travel: flydubai launches first daily flights to Bangkok
Daily service begins ahead of peak summer travel demand
DUBAI –Dubai-based carrier flydubai has officially launched its daily flights to Bangkok, expanding its presence in Thailand with a new route to Don Mueang International Airport.
The inaugural flight departed from Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport on 1 July, giving passengers a new direct option to travel between Dubai and one of Southeast Asia’s busiest capitals. The service marks flydubai’s second destination in Thailand after Krabi, as the airline continues to grow its international network in response to rising travel demand.
The first flight arrived at Don Mueang International Airport to a water cannon salute and a welcome ceremony attended by representatives from the Tourism Authority of Thailand, airport officials and other key stakeholders. The launch introduces a direct connection designed to improve accessibility for leisure and business travellers travelling between the UAE, Thailand and destinations across flydubai’s wider network.
Dubai to Bangkok
Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer at flydubai, said the launch of daily Bangkok flights represents another step in the airline’s network expansion strategy in Thailand.

Thailand remains a key destination for both leisure and business travel and our direct service to Don Mueang International Airport, which offers convenient access to central Bangkok, introduces a new gateway to the Thai capital that our customers will benefit from, supporting the growth of trade and tourism flows while reinforcing Dubai’s position as a leading global aviation hub,” he said.
Located close to central Bangkok, Don Mueang International Airport provides passengers with convenient access to the city’s commercial districts, cultural attractions and major tourism areas. The new route complements flydubai’s existing service to Krabi, offering travellers more flexibility when planning trips to Thailand.
Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, highlighted the importance of stronger air connectivity between Thailand and the Middle East. She said the UAE remains one of Thailand’s important long-haul markets, with 188,447 visitors arriving from the region between 1 January and 21 June 2026.
She added that the new Dubai-Bangkok route will provide additional capacity during the summer travel period and support demand through Thailand’s year-end peak season. The service operates with Boeing 737 MAX aircraft and is expected to strengthen travel links between the two markets.
Travel demand
Bangkok has long served as a major gateway for visitors exploring Thailand, combining business, shopping, hospitality and cultural experiences. The addition of daily flights from Dubai supports continued growth in tourism and trade exchanges between the UAE and Thailand while creating more convenient options for travellers from the Gulf region and beyond.
Sudhir Sreedharan, Divisional Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations at flydubai, said the new service reflects the airline’s focus on expanding customer choice and opening new opportunities across its network.
“With the start of flights to Bangkok, we are providing passengers from the UAE, the GCC and beyond with convenient travel options just in time for the busy summer season. Over the coming years, we look forward to seeing how this route will develop as demand continues to grow and more customers choose to travel with flydubai, enjoying our lie-flat seats in Business Class and enhanced comfort in Economy Class,” he said.
The Bangkok route joins flydubai’s growing network following the recent launch of flights to Benghazi in Libya, while services to Pokhara in Nepal are scheduled to begin from September. The airline said these additions reflect its ongoing efforts to connect passengers with underserved markets.
Flight details
The new Bangkok service operates daily from Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport and is available under the flydubai and Emirates codeshare partnership. The agreement allows passengers to benefit from smoother connections through Dubai, including a single booking, through-checked baggage and access to a wider combined network.
Return Business Class fares from Dubai to Don Mueang start from Dh 11,100, while Economy Class Lite fares begin from Dh 3,000. For passengers travelling from Bangkok to Dubai, return Business Class fares start from THB 83,900 and Economy Class Lite fares from THB 22,100.
Flights can be booked through flydubai.com, the official flydubai app, the UAE contact centre, flydubai travel shops or authorised travel partners.
The airline’s latest expansion comes after flydubai received several industry recognitions in 2026, including the “Airline with the Best Connectivity in the Middle East” award at the Business Traveller Middle East Awards, along with honours at the Aviation Achievement Awards and Fast Company Middle East’s Brands That Matter awards.
