French and British winners claim Land Rover and motorbike in draw
DUBAI – An Indian national working in Ajman has become the latest millionaire in Dubai Duty Free’s renowned promotion.
The life-changing moment took place on Wednesday at Concourse C of Dubai International Airport, where the Millennium Millionaire and Finest Surprise draws were held.
The event saw winners walk away with a $1 million jackpot, a luxury car, and two high-performance motorbikes.
Who won the jackpot?
The newest millionaire is Subhash Madam, a 48-year-old Indian national who has lived in Ajman for 14 years. A mobile shop employee in Sanaiya Industrial, he purchased ticket number 2550 online on 12 September for Millennium Millionaire Series 517. His persistence paid off after two years of participation, making him the 260th Indian national to scoop the $1 million prize.
Originally from Kerala and a father of one, Madam could not contain his joy. “Thank you so much Dubai Duty Free! I will never forget this day!” he said after learning of his windfall.
Other prizes
The draws did not stop at the million-dollar win. In the Finest Surprise promotion, Pietra Stephane, a French national, won a Land Rover Defender 110 V8 HSE P525 in Fuji White. Her ticket, number 1485, was purchased online on 13 September in Series 1934. Stephane, who has yet to be contacted, is the 33rd French national to win a car since the competition began in 1989.
The Finest Surprise Series also awarded two luxury motorbikes. Syed Suliman, a 31-year-old British national of Turkish origin based in Dubai, won an Indian 101 Sout motorbike in Sunset Red Metallic with ticket number 0543. A first-time buyer, he had purchased the ticket on 17 September at Concourse B West.
“Thank you Dubai Duty Free for the opportunity to win with my very first ticket. I can’t wait to ride this motorbike on the roads of Dubai!” he said.
Meanwhile, Kunchu Moideen Madakkan, a 52-year-old Indian tailor residing in Dubai, won a BMW S 1000 R (M Package) motorbike with ticket number 0970. He purchased the ticket online on 18 September as part of Series 639. A father of three and a regular participant for six years, he celebrated his long-awaited victory: “Finally, after long time, I’ve won with Dubai Duty Free! Thank you so much!”
