DUBAI – With the summer holiday travel season gathering pace, Dubai-based carrier flydubai is advising passengers departing from Dubai International Airport to prepare in advance for a smoother airport experience.
The airline expects the airport to be busier than usual over the coming days and has shared practical guidance to help travellers avoid delays and complete their journey with ease.
Here are six important tips from flydubai for passengers travelling from Dubai International Airport:
Keep your contact details updated
Passengers are encouraged to ensure their contact information is correct before travelling. Details can be updated through the 'Manage your booking' section on the flydubai website, helping travellers receive the latest updates relating to their booking.
Check in before reaching the airport
Online check-in is available from 48 hours up to 75 minutes before a flight departs from Dubai. Travellers can also choose the Home Check-in service or use the City Check-in service available at flydubai's Travel Shop in Sharjah, allowing them to complete formalities before arriving at the airport.
Confirm your baggage allowance
Before heading to the airport, passengers should review the baggage allowance included in their booking. Checking baggage limits in advance can help avoid unexpected issues during check-in and ensure luggage complies with the airline's requirements.
Arrive at least four hours before departure
With passenger numbers expected to rise during the holiday period, flydubai recommends arriving at Dubai International Airport at least four hours before the scheduled departure time. The airline also reminds travellers that check-in counters close 60 minutes before departure.
Use self-service kiosks to save time
Passengers departing from Terminal 2 can speed up the airport process by using flydubai's self-service kiosks. Travellers can print their baggage tags and complete check-in, if they have not already checked in online, before proceeding directly to the dedicated bag-drop counters.
Monitor your departure gate
The airline is also urging passengers to regularly check airport flight information screens for any gate updates and to arrive at their assigned boarding gate well before boarding begins to ensure a smooth departure.
