DUBAI – The Roads and Transport Authority has announced the opening of the Al Ruwayyah Yard project, a new initiative designed to regulate and organise parking for caravans, boats, including Jet Skis, trailers and food vending vehicles in Dubai.

The project forms part of wider efforts to enhance urban organisation, protect the city’s visual landscape and support sustainability objectives.

By introducing dedicated facilities, the initiative aims to reduce random parking and improve quality of life for residents and visitors alike.

Project scope

According to Abdulla Yousef Al Ali, Chief Executive Officer of the Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector at RTA, the Al Ruwayyah Yard provides integrated and secure parking solutions tailored to specialised vehicles.

The facility includes 335 designated parking spaces supported by modern infrastructure, ensuring safe and orderly use while preserving the road right of way. The project is intended to support Dubai’s position as a leading global destination for living, tourism and business.

Traffic impact

Al Ali said the yard represents a key step in addressing unregulated practices that disrupt traffic movement and compromise safety. By relocating caravans, boats, trailers and food vending vehicles to a dedicated site, the initiative contributes to smoother traffic flow, improved road safety and a more visually appealing urban environment. It also helps ease pressure on residential areas affected by random parking.

Future expansion

The Al Ruwayyah Yard is part of a broader series of RTA initiatives focused on sustainable urban development and the optimal use of authority-owned land across the emirate. Studies are currently underway to expand the service to additional locations in Dubai, with the aim of ensuring convenient access for individuals and companies.

The project is being implemented and managed in collaboration with a specialised private sector company, aligning with the Dubai Government’s vision to strengthen public-private partnerships and support the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.
