Turkmenistan Airlines suspends Dubai and Abu Dhabi flights
Refunds and rebooking options available for affected passengers across all channels
DUBAI – Turkmenistan Airlines has announced the temporary suspension of its passenger services on the Ashgabat-Dubai-Ashgabat and Ashgabat-Abu Dhabi-Ashgabat routes.
The suspension will remain in effect until June 15, 2026, according to an official statement reported via the airline.
The decision affects direct connectivity between Turkmenistan and the United Arab Emirates, with passengers advised to check updated schedules and alternative travel options. The carrier stated that the move has been taken in response to operational safety considerations linked to regional airspace conditions.
Airspace safety
The airline confirmed that the suspension follows restrictions affecting the airspace of the Islamic Republic of Iran. It said an operational risk assessment was conducted to ensure flight safety across its network. As a result, services on both UAE routes have been halted temporarily.
Turkmenistan Airlines, the state-owned flag carrier headquartered in Ashgabat, operates from Ashgabat International Airport and connects more than 14 international destinations across Asia, Europe and the Middle East, alongside domestic services.
Options for passengers
Passengers booked on the affected flights have been offered two alternatives. They may request a full refund of their tickets without any deductions or opt to reschedule travel to the nearest available flights at no additional cost. Refunds for tickets purchased online through the airline’s website or digital platforms will be returned directly to the original payment card. For bookings made through sales offices or travel agents, passengers have been instructed to contact their point of purchase for processing.
