Eid Al Etihad 2025: Pakistan PM celebrates UAE National Day, welcomes investment
Millions of Pakistanis contribute to UAE’s growth and nation-building efforts
DUBAI/ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday expressed Pakistan’s readiness to welcome investment from the United Arab Emirates in sectors including renewable energy, artificial intelligence, fintech, agriculture, and minerals.
Speaking at a ceremony celebrating the UAE’s 54th National Day, he described the economic partnership between the two countries as “a shining example,” noting that UAE support was vital to Pakistan’s stabilising economy.
He extended warm congratulations to the leadership and people of the UAE, sending heartfelt felicitations to President and Ruler of Abu Dhabi His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, federal ministers, parliamentarians, diplomats, and members of the public.
Strategic partnerships
Reflecting on his earliest memories of the UAE, PM Shehbaz recalled the nation’s visionary approach long before many possibilities became realities. “Witnessing the UAE’s remarkable journey fills all of us with profound admiration for the President and his great late father Sheikh Zayed, who laid the foundation of brotherhood between Pakistan and UAE,” he said.
He highlighted the enduring spirit of friendship that binds the two nations and praised the strategic partnership, which has grown across multiple domains. “At the heart of our relationship are the people – the 1.8 million Pakistanis who consider the UAE their second home and contribute tirelessly to its economic progress,” he added.
Economic and cultural ties
The prime minister underscored the significant contributions of Pakistanis in the UAE, noting their vital role in nation-building and economic growth. He expressed hopes for deeper cooperation, greater prosperity, and enduring peace for Pakistan, UAE, and the wider region.
UAE Ambassador to Pakistan Salem Al Bawab Al Zaabi reaffirmed his country’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties in areas such as energy, economy, and artificial intelligence. He noted that both nations share common values and a vision for regional stability and development.
The celebration concluded with PM Shehbaz, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, and Ambassador Al Zaabi cutting a ceremonial cake to mark the occasion.
