Dubai announces dates for World Governments Summit 2027
Global leaders to focus on future-ready governments next tear
DUBAI – Guided by the vision and directives of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the United Arab Emirates continues to reinforce its commitment to advancing government development and international cooperation.
The country has positioned itself as a global hub for dialogue on governance, innovation and future readiness. Within this framework, the next edition of the World Governments Summit has been officially scheduled from 1 to 3 February 2027.
The announcement reflects the UAE’s ongoing efforts to foster effective partnerships between governments, global institutions and thought leaders, while promoting the exchange of successful governance models and policy solutions across nations.
World Governments Summit
Mohammad Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the World Governments Summit, said the summit embodies the UAE leadership’s vision of empowering governments to drive meaningful change and create new opportunities. He noted that the platform plays a central role in enhancing global preparedness to address rapidly evolving challenges, from economic transformation to societal development.
He added that the summit aims to support sustainable prosperity and contribute to a stable and progressive future for societies worldwide. According to Al Gergawi, the World Governments Summit has firmly established itself as one of the world’s leading international events dedicated to government innovation and cooperation between public and private sectors.
A global platform
Al Gergawi highlighted that outcomes from previous editions have helped shape government policies and national strategies in several countries, with a positive impact on long-term development pathways. He underlined the growing importance of international dialogue at a time of accelerating global change, noting that the summit has become a key platform for joint action, creative thinking and innovative policy solutions.
The World Governments Summit 2026, held in Dubai from 3 to 5 February, marked the largest leadership participation in the event’s history. More than 6,250 participants attended, including decision-makers, experts and thought leaders from across the world.
Record participation
The 13th edition saw participation from over 60 heads of state and government and their deputies, alongside more than 500 ministers and representatives from over 150 governments. The summit hosted more than 445 dialogue sessions involving over 450 global figures, and welcomed more than 700 CEOs of major international companies.
It also brought together 87 Nobel laureates and internationally recognised scientists, as well as representatives from over 80 international and regional organisations, academic institutions and research centres. The agenda featured 25 global forums and more than 45 ministerial and high-level meetings, focusing on five core themes ranging from global governance and economic prosperity to future cities and emerging opportunities.
As part of its knowledge-building mission, the summit released 36 strategic reports in collaboration with international partners and hosted the third Global Ministers Survey to help identify development priorities and strengthen public policy worldwide.
