DUBAIAwqaf Dubai has registered the largest permanent family endowment in the emirate, with assets valued at Dh1.6 billion, marking a significant milestone for institutional endowment development in Dubai.

The endowment has been established by the Ahmed and Mahmoud Al Dallal family and is designated as a family waqf for their children and descendants. The registration reflects growing momentum in structured, long-term charitable giving across the emirate.

The endowment comprises 111 waqfs spread across various areas of Dubai and has been formally recorded under the Endowment and Minors’ Trust Foundation in Dubai. It has been structured to ensure sustainability, long-term returns and continuity of benefits for future generations, reinforcing the role of family endowments in strengthening Dubai’s charitable ecosystem.

Record registration

The Al Dallal family’s contribution represents a pioneering model of family endowment in Dubai, underlining its importance in supporting institutional charity work. Awqaf Dubai confirmed that the scale and structure of the endowment demonstrate how professionally managed waqf assets can deliver enduring social and economic value while preserving family legacy.

Issa Al Ghurair, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Awqaf Dubai, said the endowment reflects the family’s strong commitment to sustainable giving and highlights the foundation’s success in developing and managing waqf assets to ensure long-term impact across generations.

With the addition of the Al Dallal endowment, the total number of registered family endowments with Awqaf Dubai has reached 251. Their combined value now stands at Dh4.8 billion, highlighting the growing role of family contributions in enhancing endowment sustainability and securing ongoing returns.

Ali Al Mutawa, Secretary-General of Awqaf Dubai, said the foundation aims to enable families and communities to manage and invest their endowment assets professionally, ensuring continuity and measurable social benefit.

Mohammed Ahmed Al Dallal and Saeed Mahmoud Al Dallal expressed pride in registering the largest family endowment with Awqaf Dubai, stating that the initiative reflects their commitment to social responsibility. They noted that the proceeds will sustainably support their children and descendants, while reinforcing the wider role of endowments in charitable and social development.
