UAE weather turns unsettled with rain, cooler temperatures and dust
Temperatures remain mild despite fluctuating humidity levels
DUBAI – An unsettled weather pattern has taken hold across the United Arab Emirates (UAE) this weekend, bringing rainfall, cloud cover and gusty winds to several parts of the country.
Showers were reported in the Dhafra region, including port areas, as well as in Umm Al Thumool, south of Al Ain.

According to the National Centre of Meteorology, Saturday is marked by partly cloudy to cloudy skies, with convective cloud formation leading to light to moderate rainfall in scattered locations. The shift signals a noticeable departure from the typically dry April conditions.
Weather shift
Cloud development across the UAE is driving intermittent rainfall, particularly in internal and southern regions. Winds are expected to remain light to moderate overall but may strengthen at intervals, stirring dust in open areas and reducing visibility. Wind speeds are forecast between 10 and 25 km/h, with gusts reaching up to 40 km/h.

Temperatures remain relatively mild for this time of year. Daytime highs are expected to range between 31°C and 34°C across coastal and inland areas, while mountainous regions could see temperatures drop to the low 20s. Humidity levels are variable, climbing to as high as 85 per cent in some coastal zones.
Weekend outlook
Unstable conditions are set to continue into Sunday, with partly cloudy to cloudy skies and further chances of rainfall across scattered parts of the country. Winds may intensify further, reaching up to 45 km/h, which could lead to blowing dust and reduced horizontal visibility in exposed areas.
Sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf are forecast to be slight to moderate, turning rough at times with increased cloud activity. Meanwhile, the Oman Sea will remain slight to moderate.
Early week
By Monday, cloud cover is expected to persist, particularly over eastern and southern regions where there remains a chance of light rainfall during the day. Humidity levels are likely to increase overnight into Tuesday morning, especially in inland areas. Winds will continue to be light to moderate, occasionally freshening.
Conditions may stabilise slightly by Tuesday, with fair to partly cloudy skies prevailing, although cloud build-up over southern areas is still possible. Winds are expected to shift northwesterly, reaching speeds of up to 40 km/h, while sea conditions remain moderate to rough in the Arabian Gulf.
On Wednesday, stronger northwesterly winds are forecast, particularly over the sea, with speeds potentially reaching 45 km/h. Dusty conditions may once again affect visibility on land, while the Arabian Gulf could become rough to very rough at times.
