Etihad Guest members can now redeem miles across STARLUX Airlines network
New loyalty tie-up builds on airlines’ codeshare and Abu Dhabi-Taipei route
ABU DHABI – Etihad Guest members can now use their miles to book flights on Taiwan-based STARLUX Airlines, opening access to destinations across Asia, North America and Europe.
The loyalty partnership between Etihad Airways and STARLUX’s COSMILE programme marks the latest step in the airlines’ growing relationship.
The new redemption benefit takes effect from today (Tuesday), expanding the options available to Etihad’s frequent flyers.
Etihad Guest Miles
Under the partnership, Etihad Guest members can redeem Etihad Guest Miles for flights in Business and Economy cabins across STARLUX’s network. The expanded reach includes onward connections to destinations such as Los Angeles, Phoenix and Seattle in the US, as well as Okinawa, Kobe and Nagoya in Japan.
The arrangement gives Etihad customers greater access to STARLUX’s Asia-Pacific network while strengthening connections between the airlines’ respective destinations.
The partnership will expand further later this year, with reciprocal earning and redemption benefits planned for both loyalty programmes. Etihad Guest members will be able to earn miles when travelling across the STARLUX network, while COSMILE members will gain the ability to earn and redeem miles across Etihad’s network of more than 100 destinations.
Etihad’s Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer Arik De said the partnership would give members more ways to use their Etihad Guest Miles while providing access to STARLUX destinations across three regions.
Growing ties
The loyalty agreement follows a strategic codeshare partnership signed by Etihad and STARLUX in June 2025. Etihad subsequently launched direct flights between Abu Dhabi and Taipei in September 2025, operated by its Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
The airlines said their wider cooperation positions Abu Dhabi as a gateway connecting STARLUX’s Asia-Pacific network with Etihad’s routes across Europe. Taipei, meanwhile, serves as an important connecting point for Etihad customers travelling onwards across Asia.
STARLUX Chief Passenger Commercial Officer Richard Tseng said the loyalty partnership was the next step in the airlines’ relationship, following their codeshare agreement.
The reciprocal earning and redemption arrangement is scheduled to begin later this year, allowing COSMILE members to access Etihad’s global network while Etihad Guest members gain earning opportunities across STARLUX flights.
