Etihad Guest eases tier upgrades with 25pc reduction in qualifying miles
Extended flexibility offered amid recent travel disruptions
ABU DHABI – Etihad Guest has introduced a 25 percent reduction in tier qualification thresholds across all membership levels, enabling members to retain or upgrade their status with fewer Tier Miles.
The update, effective from 18 March, applies automatically to all members worldwide. No registration or additional action is required for the revised thresholds to take effect.
Tier update
The revised criteria allow members to maintain their current tier or progress to the next level within their existing 12-month qualification period using reduced Tier Miles. The new thresholds will remain in place until 31 March 2027, offering a longer window for members to benefit from the adjustment.
Global reach
The change applies across the programme’s global membership base, ensuring consistency regardless of travel region. Members can continue to earn Tier Miles on flights operated by Etihad Airways and select partner airlines within its frequent flyer network.
Member benefits
The move comes as part of efforts to provide greater flexibility to travellers whose plans may have been affected in recent weeks. Tier Miles contribute towards status levels, while Etihad Guest Miles can be redeemed for flights, hotel stays, holidays, and products available through the Etihad Guest Reward Shop.
The programme continues to offer multiple earning and redemption options, allowing members to maximise value across travel and lifestyle categories during the extended qualification period.
