Burj Khalifa glows green and white for Pakistan Independence Day
DUBAI: The Burj Khalifa lit up in green and white on 14 August, displaying the Pakistani flag to mark the country’s 78th Independence Day.
The spectacular tribute was visible across Dubai and celebrated the close ties between the UAE and Pakistan.
Earlier in the day, flag-hoisting ceremonies were held at the Pakistan Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate in Dubai, featuring patriotic performances and community gatherings.
Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi highlighted the Dh29 billion remitted by the Pakistani community last year and announced new online consular services.
On 10 August, Dubai Expo City hosted around 60,000 attendees for what was described as the largest Pakistan Independence Day celebration outside the country.
