Safety measure
Earlier in the day, the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority announced the temporary suspension of flights at Dubai International Airport. The authority said the decision was taken purely as a precautionary step aimed at safeguarding passengers, crew and ground personnel.
The suspension affected both arriving and departing flights, prompting airlines and airport operators to adjust schedules and operational plans. Authorities indicated that the disruption was temporary and emphasised that safety remained the top priority.
Passengers were advised to remain in contact with their respective airlines for real-time updates regarding departures, arrivals and possible schedule adjustments.
Flight diversions
During the disruption, some flights that were scheduled to arrive at Dubai International Airport were diverted to Al Maktoum International Airport, also known as Dubai World Central. Dubai Airports confirmed that the diversions were carried out to maintain continuity of operations while the suspension remained in place.
Travellers affected by these changes were urged to coordinate directly with their airlines regarding revised arrival locations, onward connections and travel arrangements.
Airport authorities noted that updates on operational developments would continue to be communicated through official channels as the situation evolves. Passengers were encouraged to monitor airline notifications and announcements issued by Dubai Airports.
Limited schedule
Dubai’s flagship carrier Emirates also confirmed adjustments to its flight schedule as operations began to restart.
