Work from Park: Dubai turns green spaces into open-air offices
Outdoor zones target freelancers, SMEs and remote professionals across emirate
DUBAI – Dubai Municipality has unveiled a pioneering initiative titled Work from Park, aimed at reshaping how public parks are used across the emirate.
The programme integrates productivity with leisure by introducing flexible work environments within green spaces. It reflects Dubai’s continued push towards enhancing quality of life while adapting to evolving global work patterns.
The initiative positions parks as multi-functional urban destinations that combine nature, connectivity, and modern work infrastructure.
Work from Park
The Work from Park initiative marks a strategic transformation in the role of public parks, turning them into vibrant work-friendly environments without compromising their recreational identity. Designed to support remote workers, freelancers, entrepreneurs, and small and medium-sized enterprises, the concept integrates outdoor productivity zones within natural settings.
Dubai’s growing remote and hybrid workforce has already reshaped workplace expectations, with employees increasingly dividing time between home and office. At the same time, the emirate’s hospitality sector has responded with “work from hotel” and “workation” offerings, providing high-speed connectivity and flexible workspaces. The new initiative extends this trend into public green spaces, offering an alternative that blends fresh air, community, and productivity.
First location
The first Work from Park site is scheduled to open in May 2026 at Al Barsha Pond Park. The location will feature modular workspaces seamlessly integrated into the park’s landscape, offering desks, flexible seating areas, and creative zones designed for focused work.
Additional sites are expected to be rolled out across several parks in Dubai throughout the year, expanding access to outdoor work environments across different communities. Each location will be tailored to maintain the balance between leisure areas and professional work zones, ensuring parks remain inclusive public spaces.
To support the rollout, Dubai Municipality has signed two Memoranda of Cooperation with Group AMANA and Letswork. Group AMANA, through its DuBox arm, will construct the first facility using advanced off-site modular construction technology. This method enables structures to be manufactured externally before on-site assembly, reducing construction time, minimising waste, and improving environmental efficiency while maintaining design flexibility.
Letswork will manage the operation of these workspaces, integrating them into its digital platform to provide users with access to hot desks, event spaces, podcast studios, and creative production facilities. The collaboration is also expected to introduce educational programmes and community-driven sessions aimed at fostering entrepreneurship and supporting creative talent.
Omar AlMheiri, Co-Founder of Letswork, described the initiative as “a significant step toward redefining the future of flexible work in the UAE,” noting that it will offer “inspiring, tech-enabled environments that break the traditional office mould.”
