DUBAI – Kotook Tech Ltd, under the leadership of CEO and Co-Founder KOTOOK Tech Javad Mamoodi and Chairman of Day to Day Properties Mohammad Reza Bartarang, has successfully hosted the UAE’s first Green Broker Training Programme in collaboration with the Emirates Green Building Council.

The initiative marks a significant milestone in the country’s evolving real estate sector, highlighting the growing importance of sustainability in property development, investment, and sales practices.

Held over three days, the pioneering programme brought together real estate professionals from across the UAE to explore the increasing role of environmental responsibility in shaping the future of the property industry. The initiative reflects the changing expectations of buyers, investors, and developers, as sustainability continues to become an important factor influencing decisions across the real estate market.

The programme featured Abdullatif Albitawi, Director of Emirates Green Building Council, as the keynote and guest speaker. He shared insights into the UAE’s sustainability journey and discussed how green building practices are increasingly influencing property development, investment strategies, and market competitiveness.

Sustainability in property valuation

A key focus of the programme was the transformation of buyer preferences and the rising importance of sustainability in property valuation. Industry experts highlighted how environmental performance is becoming an increasingly significant consideration for both residential and commercial property buyers.

Modern consumers are showing greater interest in properties that provide energy efficiency, reduced operational costs, healthier indoor environments, and a lower environmental impact. As a result, sustainability is becoming more than an additional feature, with its role expanding as a factor that contributes to long-term property value and market appeal.

The sessions also explored the essential role brokers play in helping clients understand the advantages of sustainable developments and make informed decisions in a rapidly changing marketplace.

Broker training

Throughout the programme, participants received practical guidance on sustainable building practices, green certification systems, energy-efficient technologies, and environmental factors shaping today’s real estate industry.

The training curriculum was designed to equip brokers with the knowledge and tools needed to effectively communicate the benefits of sustainable properties to buyers and investors. Participants explored how sustainability considerations are influencing investment approaches, property performance expectations, and customer priorities.

Industry leaders emphasised that brokers with expertise in sustainable real estate will be better prepared to respond to future market requirements while creating greater value for their clients.

Addressing attendees, Abdullatif Albitawi highlighted the importance of green building principles in supporting the UAE’s sustainability objectives. He discussed the need for stronger collaboration between developers, investors, government organisations, and real estate professionals to accelerate the adoption of sustainable practices across the built environment.

The sessions provided participants with a deeper understanding of how sustainability connects with the UAE’s long-term economic diversification plans and environmental goals, while reinforcing the property sector’s role in supporting sustainable development.

Expert sessions

The second day of the Green Broker Training Programme featured a session led by Dr. Samiullah Khan, focusing on sustainability, energy efficiency, and waste management solutions within the real estate sector.

A major highlight of the session was the discussion on building standards, including local and international frameworks such as LEED, WELL, BREEAM, and Estidama. Participants gained practical knowledge about how these standards add value to properties and how brokers can effectively explain their advantages to clients.

Reflecting on the session, Dr. Samiullah Khan said: “I’ve always believed that discussing climate action and the built environment shouldn't be a dry, passive lecture. We kept the learning highly interactive, dynamic, and fun. The engagement and curiosity from the brokers were absolutely fantastic.”

He added that the enthusiasm shown by participants towards integrating sustainability principles into their daily practices represented an important step for the future of urban communities, encouraging brokers to champion sustainability within the market.

Green Broker Training Programme

For Kotook Tech Ltd, the programme represents an important step towards strengthening industry knowledge and supporting professional development within the UAE’s real estate ecosystem.

As the country’s first dedicated Green Broker Training Programme, the initiative provided real estate professionals with specialised expertise in an area that is becoming increasingly important for industry growth. The event encouraged discussions around innovation, sustainability, and the future direction of the property market.

As sustainability continues to influence the global real estate landscape, the programme highlighted the growing demand for education and awareness among property professionals. The event concluded with strong participation and recognition of the changing role of sustainability in how properties are designed, developed, marketed, and sold.
