ABU DHABI – Get ready for an evening of sharp humour and infectious laughter as Cem Yılmaz, Turkiye’s most celebrated comedian, prepares to take Abu Dhabi by storm on 17 January 2026.

The actor, filmmaker, and comedy legend is returning to the UAE with a brand-new stand-up show that promises clever storytelling, cultural observations, and quick-fire punchlines that have made him a household name across the region.

Who is Cem Yılmaz?

Born in Istanbul in 1973, Cem Yılmaz has spent more than three decades redefining Turkish comedy. A graduate of Boğaziçi University with a degree in Tourism and Hotel Management, he began his journey as a cartoonist for the humour magazine Leman before stepping onto the stage in 1992.

His rise was meteoric – by the early 2000s, his shows at the Beşiktaş Culture Center were attracting thousands, turning him into one of the most successful comedians in the country.

Yılmaz’s humour extends far beyond the stage. He has written, directed, and starred in several of Turkey’s biggest comedy hits, including G.O.R.A., A.R.O.G., Yahşi Batı, Pek Yakında, and Arif v 216. His films blend satire, sci-fi, and social commentary with a uniquely Turkish twist. His latest show, CMXXIV, continues that tradition – mixing fresh material with his unmistakable wit and charisma.
