flydubai launches daily Aleppo flights, expanding Syria network with second destination
New route complements three daily Damascus services
DUBAI – flydubai has celebrated the launch of its new daily non-stop service to Aleppo International Airport, marking another milestone in the Dubai-based carrier's growing presence in Syria.
The inaugural flight departed Dubai International Airport's Terminal 3 yesterday and received a ceremonial water cannon salute upon arrival in Aleppo, where local authorities hosted an official reception.
The new route makes Aleppo the airline's second destination in Syria, complementing its existing three daily services to Damascus and further strengthening air links between the UAE and the war-torn country's largest commercial centres.
Dubai-Aleppo flight
The daily Aleppo service is expected to provide greater flexibility for passengers travelling between the UAE and Syria for business, leisure and family visits. It also offers a more convenient option for Syrian communities living across the UAE and the wider GCC, particularly during the busy summer travel season, while significantly reducing journey times compared with indirect routes.
The latest expansion follows flydubai's successful return to Damascus in June 2025 and underlines the airline's continued focus on strengthening connectivity in underserved markets. The carrier said the additional route is aimed at supporting increased trade, tourism and economic ties between the UAE and Syria while broadening travel choices for passengers.
Hamad Obaidalla, Chief Commercial Officer at flydubai, said the launch of flights to Aleppo reinforces the airline's commitment to connecting Dubai with important regional markets.
"The commencement of our daily flights to Aleppo, a city of immense historical and commercial significance, strengthens our presence in Syria and reinforces our commitment to connecting Dubai with key markets in the region. Since introducing our Damascus service last year, we have witnessed strong demand for travel between the UAE and Syria. This new route reflects our long-term confidence in the Syrian market and our commitment to providing passengers with more flexible travel options, while contributing to the region's economic and tourism development," he said.
Flight details
Aleppo becomes the latest destination added to flydubai's expanding international network, following recent launches to Bangkok in Thailand and Benghazi in Libya. The airline is also preparing to begin flights to Pokhara in Nepal from September 23, 2026.
The Aleppo service operates under flydubai's codeshare partnership with Emirates, allowing passengers to travel across both airlines' networks on a single ticket with through-checked baggage and smoother onward connections.
Flights operate daily between Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Aleppo International Airport (ALP). Return Business Class fares from Dubai start from Dh8,000, while Economy Class Lite fares begin at Dh1,800. For passengers travelling from Aleppo to Dubai, return Business Class fares start from $2,000, while Economy Class Lite fares begin at $470.
Historic city
Aleppo is Syria's second-largest city and is recognised as one of the world's oldest continuously inhabited cities. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it was once a major trading centre along the ancient Silk Road and remains renowned for its rich cultural heritage.
Among its best-known landmarks are the historic Aleppo Citadel and Al-Madina Souq, one of the world's largest covered markets, both of which continue to attract visitors interested in the city's centuries-old history.
Passengers travelling on the new route will also benefit from flydubai's upgraded onboard product following the airline's cabin retrofit programme. Across its modern Boeing 737 fleet, Business Class features lie-flat seats, while Economy Class offers ergonomically designed seating. Travellers can also enjoy meals, snacks and beverages during the flight, alongside hours of inflight entertainment now available on most aircraft.
