Dubai Taxi Company recruitment drive for Pakistanis cancelled
Applicants urged to disregard earlier announcements
DUBAI – A recruitment drive jointly organised by the Dubai Taxi Company (DTC) and the Consulate General of Pakistan in Dubai has been cancelled, according to an official announcement issued by the Consulate.
The event was scheduled to take place at the Consulate premises, where walk-in applicants were invited to apply for positions as taxi drivers and bike riders – both with and without UAE driving licences.
Candidates had been advised to bring their CVs, passport and visa copies, driving licences, and Pakistan ID cards for on-site registration.

In an updated notice, the Consulate General of Pakistan, Dubai, stated that the joint recruitment event “has been cancelled due to unforeseen reasons.” The Consulate also requested community members to disregard all previous announcements related to the drive.
“The inconvenience caused is deeply regretted,” the statement read.
The initiative had been expected to draw a strong response from Pakistani residents in the UAE, particularly due to DTC’s offer of monthly income potential up to Dh5,000, along with annual bonuses and accident-free performance awards.
Despite the cancellation, the UAE – and Dubai in particular – continues to be one of the leading destinations for Pakistani drivers seeking employment abroad. Thousands of Pakistani nationals are currently employed in the country’s transport and logistics sectors, attracted by structured income opportunities, established companies, and consistent demand for licensed drivers and delivery riders across the Emirates.
