Oman to launch golden visa with digital trade reforms and new initiatives
New digital platform to enable electronic transfer of commercial records
DUBAI – Oman will officially launch its golden visa programme for investors on 31st August, in a move designed to strengthen its role as a global investment hub and accelerate its digital transition in commerce.
The announcement will be made at an event in Salalah, under the patronage of Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar.
Alongside the visa scheme, new initiatives and partnerships will be unveiled to expand opportunities for both local and foreign businesses.

The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion confirmed that the golden visa will be introduced alongside the “Al Majida Companies” initiative, which highlights and supports high-performing Omani firms.
A new service enabling electronic transfer of commercial registrations via the “Oman Business” platform will also go live, cutting time and costs for businesses.
How will it work?
According to Mubarak bin Mohammed Al Douhani, the ministry’s Director-General of Planning, the programme will give investors long-term stability and growth opportunities.
The reforms are also aimed at helping Omani businesses expand locally and internationally, while fostering a fully digital trade environment to boost efficiency and transparency.
Golden visa in GCC
Oman’s golden visa follows similar residency schemes in Gulf neighbours including the UAE and Saudi Arabia, which have successfully attracted foreign entrepreneurs and investors.
At the same event, cooperation agreements will also be signed with Sultan Qaboos University, the German University of Technology, the Oman Energy Association, and Ebinaa to modernise the construction sector and build national talent.
