KARACHI/DUBAI – Air Arabia’s joint venture, Fly Jinnah, has launched a major recruitment drive for Pakistani pilots, unveiling a series of attractive captain and first officer roles.

With fixed and renewable contracts, high salaries, and international-standard benefits, the airline’s hiring campaign marks one of the most rewarding opportunities for aviators in Pakistan’s fast-growing budget airline sector.

According to the carrier’s careers portal, vacancies are open across Pakistan’s hubs, including Karachi. The new roles target Airbus A320 type-rated professionals and cover positions for both experienced captains and first officers.

What are the requirements?

For Pakistani national captains, the airline requires a minimum of 5,000 flying hours, including 500 as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) on multi-pilot turbojets and 200 on the A320. A valid ATPL or CPL, Class 1 medical certificate, Instrument Rating, and English Language Proficiency above Level 4 are mandatory. In addition, those with TRI, TRE or low-cost airline experience will be given preference.

First officers must have at least 500 flying hours, preferably on the A320. While low-cost airline background is desirable, the key requirement remains type-rating and operational knowledge of flight deck procedures.

How much do pilots earn?

Fly Jinnah has outlined highly competitive pay scales. Pakistani captains earn fixed salaries between PKR 1.59 million and PKR 2.03 million per month, based on experience, plus variable flying pay ranging from PKR 8,000 to PKR 22,000 per hour. Additional allowances cover housing, transport, medical, seniority, and duty hour pay. Free onboard meals, off-day duty compensation, and end-of-service gratuity further enhance the package.

First officers recruited on a 15-month renewable contract begin with Dh12,853 ($3,500) monthly during training, rising to Dh20,199 ($5,500) after line check, plus Dh275 per hour beyond 60 block hours. They also receive per diem payments of Dh184 per day (around $1,500 monthly), hotel accommodation, laundry, ground transport, and 30 days’ annual leave. Travel perks include MYID benefits after six months.

Foreign captains are also eligible for Fly Jinnah roles. Their 15-month contracts include Dh20,199 ($5,500) during training, increasing to Dh27,544 ($7,500) post-line check, plus Dh404 per block hour above 60. They enjoy the same allowances, accommodation, transport, uniforms, and standby tickets on Air Arabia’s network.

The surge in openings reflects Pakistan’s expanding aviation market, led by low-cost carriers such as Fly Jinnah. Industry demand for A320 pilots is increasing as airlines add new routes and expand their fleets.
