Dubai kicks off DSS 2025 with biggest line-up of events yet
Opening weekend features concerts, comedy shows, and live performances
DUBAI’s much-awaited annual extravaganza, Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS), returns for its 28th edition from 27 June to 31 August, transforming the emirate into a vibrant summer playground.
Organised by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), DSS 2025 introduces a revamped structure with three themed shopping seasons for the first time, packed with flash sales, mega raffles, headline performances, culinary showcases, and family entertainment across 66 action-filled days.
The retail season kicks off with the Summer Holiday Offers from 27 June to 17 July, offering 25 to 75 percent discounts across more than 800 brands in over 3,000 outlets. Participating venues include Mercato Mall, Dubai Festival City Mall, Majid Al Futtaim malls, and Dubai Outlet Mall. DFRE’s Lucky Receipt activation, Tickit and AURA rewards, and spend-to-win promotions will further amplify the excitement citywide. This season promises the highest value-to-offer ratio seen in the event's history, with shoppers also benefitting from integrated digital platforms that enhance the retail journey.
Concerts and live acts
The DSS 2025 opening weekend offers free concerts and high-energy performances across venues. On 27 June, Dubai Festival City Mall’s Festival Square hosts America's Got Talent dance crew Sabrina, alongside Arab pop star Reina Khoury. The excitement continues on 28 June with Emirati singer Abri & the Band and Noel Kharman.
Simultaneously, City Centre Mirdif’s stage will feature Jordanian indie group Jadal and Syrian artist Al Shami. Roaming acts will maintain a vibrant atmosphere throughout the malls all weekend. These live shows are expected to draw huge crowds, continuing Dubai’s legacy of blending international talent with regional favourites.
Dubai Opera will present regional pop act Jazziyat alongside Lebanese vocalist Banah on 27 June, while the Coca-Cola Arena lights up with Khaleeji pop stars Miami Band and Mutref Al Mutref on 28 June. Comedy lovers can enjoy an international line-up of acts including veteran Indian comedian Atul Khatri at Dubai College, Punjabi comic Jeeveshu Ahluwalia at Jumeirah Zabeel Saray, and the Filipino stand-up showcase Pinoy Comedy Mixtape at Dubai World Trade Centre.
Helen Ward-Jackson brings her internationally acclaimed Adele tribute show to Theatre by QE2 on both 27 and 28 June, offering an emotionally rich and musically faithful rendition of the British superstar's biggest hits. Meanwhile, fans of modern dance can witness “We Call It Ballet” at Zabeel Theatre on 28 June, combining immersive set design with contemporary choreography.
Shopping and mega raffles
Dubai Summer Surprises 2025 ups the ante with life-changing raffle prizes, exclusive cashback, and major car giveaways. Highlights include:
- Dubai Jewellery Group: Shoppers will find up to 70% off diamonds and pearls, 50% off making charges, zero deduction on old gold exchange, and a chance to win 12-gram gold bars weekly. VOX Cinemas has unveiled the Jurassic Café at Mall of the Emirates, an experience running until 23 July that features dinosaur-themed food stations, prehistoric décor, and hands-on activities. Meanwhile, football fans can walk through the immersive Messi Experience at Dubai Festival City Mall until 31 August, including skill challenges and a glimpse into Messi’s football legacy.
For culture lovers, Dubai Opera’s summer programming features not only music but also visually spectacular performances. Additional events are scheduled throughout the festival calendar, with ticketed and free-entry options for every budget.
Fitness and dining deals
Fitness enthusiasts can lace up their shoes for the Dubai Hills Mall Indoor Run Powered by Skechers on 28 June. Designed for all skill levels, the routes span 1 km to 10 km. The route winds through the mall’s climate-controlled walkways and is set against an energising soundtrack. Registered participants receive finisher medals, and the top three in each category walk away with trophies.
Diners can explore summer food offers across City Walk and The Beach, JBR from 1 July to 31 August. City Walk will host Coffee Raves, basketball pop-ups, and musical entertainment. Those spending Dh100 or more can access exclusive deals through talabat.
At The Beach, JBR, Pavilion diners spending Dh250 will be entered into a draw for a luxury meal worth Dh2,500. In addition, shoppers can win Dh50,000 across five draws in the Tickit summer promotion.

The DSS Entertainer app, priced at Dh195, unlocks more than 7,500 buy-one-get-one-free deals. Offers span across fine dining, hotel stays, fitness centres, and leisure attractions, and are valid for three months from activation. This citywide voucher system is ideal for families and tourists aiming to explore Dubai at a reduced cost.
Points-based loyalty promotions further increase DSS’s appeal:
- SHARE Millionaire: Four lucky winners will each claim 1 million SHARE points (worth Dh100,000) by spending Dh300 or more and scanning receipts into the SHARE app. Points can be redeemed across 2,000 stores and 16 malls in the UAE.
