Dubai to Sharjah: New intercity bus service from May 2
RTA introduces several modifications to existing routes for better efficiency
DUBAI: The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the launch of a new intercity bus service, Route E308, connecting Stadium Bus Station in Dubai to Al Jubail Bus Station in Sharjah.
Starting from Friday, May 2, 2025, passengers can travel between the two emirates at a fare of Dh12 per one-way trip.
Adel Shakeri, Director of Planning and Business Development at RTA’s Public Transport Agency, highlighted the move as part of the authority’s broader strategy to enhance integration with other public transport systems such as the Metro, tram, and marine services.
New Dubai-Sharjah route
The newly introduced Route E308 aims to offer commuters a smoother and more convenient travel experience between Dubai and Sharjah, one of the busiest intercity corridors in the UAE.
RTA stated that the initiative aligns with its goals to improve intermodal connectivity and promote public transport as the preferred mobility choice across Dubai.
Network changes
Alongside the new intercity service, RTA will implement several changes across its existing bus routes to enhance efficiency and coverage.
Effective May 2, Route 17 will now terminate at Baniyas Square Metro Station instead of Al Sabkha, and Route 24 has been rerouted within Al Nahda 1.
Route 44 will now serve Dubai Festival City via Al Rebat Street, while Route 56 will extend to DWC Staff Village.
Routes 66 and 67 will include a new stop at Al Ruwayah Farm area, and Route 32C will curtail service between Al Jafiliya and Al Satwa, with Route F27 available for passengers to Al Satwa.
Route C26's terminus will shift to Max Metro Land Side Bus Stop 2, and Route E16 will now terminate at Union Bus Station.
Expanded coverage
Further adjustments include the rerouting of Route F12 via Kuwait Street, relocation of Route F27 and X92 stops to Max Metro Land Side Bus Stop, and modifications within Jebel Ali Industrial Area for Route F47.
Route F54 has been extended to serve the new JAFZA South labour camp, enhancing commuting options for workers in the area.
