New bus route E308 launched from Dubai to Sharjah – timings, stops and fare explained
Daily service every 30 minutes between Dubai and Sharjah now available
DUBAI: Daily commuters between Dubai and Sharjah have a new travel option with the launch of intercity bus route E308 by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
The service connects Stadium Bus Station in Dubai with Al Jubail Bus Station in Sharjah, offering a reliable and cost-effective transport solution for thousands of passengers.
The E308 operates daily from 5am to 11:30pm, with buses departing every 30 minutes. The fare is fixed at Dh12 for a one-way journey. Passengers can enjoy free Wi-Fi on board, part of RTA’s broader commitment to enhance commuter experience across its network.
Route enhancements
The launch of the E308 is one component of a wider effort by the RTA to upgrade public transport connectivity. On July 14, the authority modified several bus routes across Dubai to extend service coverage in both residential and industrial zones.
Among the key changes:
- Route 17 now ends at Baniyas Square Metro Station instead of Sabkha.
- Route 24 has been redirected within Al Nahda 1.
- Route 44 now operates via Dubai Festival City, bypassing Rebat Street.
- Route 56 has been extended to reach the DWC Staff Village.
- Routes 66 and 67 now include a stop at Al Ruwayyah Farm.
- Route 32C has dropped the stretch between Al Jafiliya and Satwa, with passengers advised to switch to F27.
- Route C26 now departs from Max Metro Bus Stop 2.
- Route E16 now terminates at Union Bus Station instead of Sabkha.
- Route F12 has been curtailed and rerouted through Kuwait Street.
- F27 and F47 have updated departure points and paths within Jebel Ali Industrial.
- F54 has been extended to a new camp in JAFZA South.
Bus-on-demand expansion
The RTA also expanded its bus-on-demand service on March 24, now covering 10 key areas across Dubai, including Barsha Heights, Al Nahda, and Oud Metha. Priced at Dh5 per trip, this service utilises 13-seater buses and allows passengers to book rides through an app, which also enables real-time coordination with drivers for customised pick-ups.
