Apple expected to unveil the iPhone 17 series in mid-September
DUBAI: Apple is poised to introduce the iPhone 17 series as early as 9 September 2025, with the devices expected to hit shelves on 19 September, in line with the company’s usual launch pattern.
If Apple maintains its strategy from past years, pre-orders could open on 12 September, the Friday following the keynote.
However, some analysts have raised the possibility of a staggered release, particularly for the iPhone 17 Air – a completely new and thinner model with a redesigned form factor. While there’s no official word from Apple about any delays, the introduction of a brand-new chassis could mean the Air version might arrive slightly later than the rest of the lineup.
With a bold redesign, significant performance enhancements, new camera architecture, and meaningful upgrades to display and battery technology, the iPhone 17 is shaping up to be the most ambitious iPhone launch in years. All-New Aluminium Design
All iPhone 17 models are expected to shift to aluminium frames. This marks the return of aluminium to flagship models for the first time since Apple introduced titanium in the iPhone 15 Pro.
Camera Bump Makeover
Pro models will sport an aluminium camera bar integrated with a two-tone back – aluminium on the top and glass on the bottom – replacing the traditional square camera bump.

The iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air are rumoured to gain 120Hz refresh rates and always-on functionality, features previously limited to Pro models.
Apple Wi-Fi 7 Chip
For the first time, Apple is developing its own Wi-Fi 7 chip to be used in the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max, providing ultra-fast connectivity, lower latency, and reduced reliance on third-party vendors like Broadcom.

Smaller Dynamic Island
Thanks to metalens technology, the iPhone 17 Pro Max is said to feature a narrower Dynamic Island, providing more usable screen space and a refined visual profile.
A19 and A19 Pro Chipsets
All iPhone 17 models will feature new chipsets built on TSMC’s enhanced 3nm process. The Pro variants will reportedly receive the more powerful A19 Pro.
New Thermal Design
The entire iPhone 17 series may incorporate vapor chamber cooling, a first for Apple. This change improves sustained performance during high-demand tasks like gaming or video editing.
