UAE-Russia travel: Etihad launches three weekly flights to Kazan from Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI – Etihad Airways has launched its inaugural service to Kazan, creating a direct connection between Abu Dhabi and one of Russia’s fastest-growing urban centres.
The new link, which touched down at Kazan International Airport this afternoon, marks a significant expansion of the airline’s network and opens a fresh travel corridor for both business and leisure passengers.
Operating three times a week, the route offers a flight duration of just over five hours, placing the two destinations within convenient reach for short breaks or longer stays.
Abu Dhabi to Kazan
Flight EY839 received a ceremonial welcome on arrival, signalling the official start of Etihad’s newest international service. The route runs on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, offering timing that complements weekend travel and provides flexible options for holidaymakers and corporate travellers alike.
The airline highlighted that the service is designed to provide seamless onward connections through its Abu Dhabi hub. From the UAE capital, passengers can connect to destinations across Southeast Asia, the Indian Subcontinent, the GCC region and Australia. The addition of Kazan strengthens Etihad’s presence in the Russian market and broadens access for travellers looking to explore Abu Dhabi’s cultural landmarks, beaches and dining experiences, as well as those continuing across the wider network.
