Inaugural flight welcomed with ceremony and water cannon salute
ABU DHABI – Air Arabia Abu Dhabi has launched its first non-stop service to Amman City Airport, marking a significant step in the airline’s regional expansion.
The new route strengthens connectivity between the UAE capital and Jordan, offering travellers additional choice and convenience. It also reinforces the carrier’s growing presence in the Jordanian market.
Operating three times a week, the service introduces Air Arabia Abu Dhabi’s second airport in Amman, complementing its existing operations to Queen Alia International Airport. The move reflects the airline’s strategy to expand its network while providing cost-effective travel options across key regional destinations.
Route expansion
The inaugural flight was marked by celebrations at both Zayed International Airport and Amman City Airport. Airline representatives and airport officials attended the ceremonies, while the aircraft received a traditional water cannon salute upon arrival in Amman, highlighting the significance of the new route.
By adding Amman City Airport to its network, the airline aims to improve accessibility for passengers travelling between the two capitals. The route is expected to cater to both business and leisure travellers, as well as those visiting friends and relatives.
Onboard experience
Air Arabia Abu Dhabi operates a fleet of 12 Airbus A320 aircraft, known for their efficiency and reliability. Passengers on the new route can access ‘SkyTime’, the airline’s complimentary in-flight streaming service, along with ‘SkyCafe’, offering a range of onboard meals and snacks.
Travellers can also benefit from ‘Air Rewards’, the airline’s loyalty programme, designed to provide flexible earning and redemption options. Bookings for the Abu Dhabi–Amman City Airport route are available through the airline’s website, call centre and authorised travel agencies.
