Dubai Airport opens world’s first AI passenger corridor allowing stop-free immigration clearance
Passengers walk through immigration in seconds without presenting documents
DUBAI – Dubai International Airport (DXB), the world’s busiest hub for international passengers, has unveiled the first artificial intelligence-powered passenger corridor, revolutionising the way travellers clear immigration.
The new system allows passengers to walk through immigration checkpoints in seconds without stopping or presenting identification documents. Up to ten people can pass through simultaneously, transforming passenger flow and redefining the airport experience.
AI-powered passenger corridor
The AI-powered corridor, described as a “red carpet” experience, uses advanced biometric and digital data to recognise passengers before they reach border control. Unlike traditional counters that process one traveller at a time, the corridor can handle groups, significantly boosting efficiency.
Dubai authorities confirm that suspicious or irregular profiles are automatically referred to forgery experts for manual review, ensuring security is not compromised.
How does it work?
The corridor integrates pre-verified passenger information, allowing instant clearance as travellers walk through. Artificial intelligence confirms identity on the spot, and the system automatically flags any anomalies. This not only doubles airport processing capacity but also enhances fraud detection by redirecting questionable cases to specialists.
The initiative was introduced by the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai and launched by Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri.
When is it being rolled out?
The service is now active for Emirates Airline passengers arriving and departing through DXB. Officials highlight that the system is part of a broader vision to create a “boundless travel” experience, ensuring smoother and faster journeys for international travellers. The corridor also reinforces Dubai’s position as a leader in smart travel innovation, setting new global benchmarks in aviation.
Dubai International Airport has already maintained its position as the busiest hub for international passenger traffic in 2024, according to Airports Council International. The latest innovation coincides with the airport preparing for one of its busiest travel seasons. Between 13 and 25 August 2025, DXB expects to handle more than 3.6 million passengers, averaging 280,000 daily, with Friday 15 August projected to surpass 290,000.
