Efficient transfers, frequent transport, and hundreds of amenities define Dubai’s top ranking
DUBAI – Dubai has been ranked the world’s best-connected city for 2025, securing the top position in the Global City Access Index by Mozio.
The report highlighted the emirate’s outstanding transfer efficiency between Dubai International Airport and the city centre, supported by modern public transport and strong urban planning. It also showcased how Dubai combines fast, frequent travel connections with affordable accommodation and a high density of amenities, making it a top choice for both business and leisure travellers.
With an estimated Mozio transfer time of just 30 minutes, visitors arriving at Dubai International Airport can reach downtown quickly. Public transport journeys average only 24 minutes, with metro and shuttle services departing every eight minutes. That means even during busy travel hours, the waiting time remains low and travellers can move from terminal to city seamlessly.
Fast transfers
Dubai’s public transport system stands out for speed and convenience, with transfer times that rival major Asian and European hubs. Only Málaga and Tokyo share a faster airport-to-city connection at 23 minutes each, while Sydney and Ho Chi Minh City average 26 minutes. Dubai ranks third globally for public transport time, demonstrating the efficiency of its transport network.
Transport frequency
Public transport frequency is another strong factor. While Prague and Delhi top the list with services every five minutes, Dubai remains highly competitive with an eight-minute average. This puts it ahead of Berlin, Singapore, Sydney, and Vienna. With reliable frequency and broad transport coverage, travellers spend less time in queues and more time exploring the city.
Amenities and comfort
Beyond transport, Dubai offers extensive amenities to welcome visitors. With more than 166 restaurants, cafés, and bars per 100,000 residents, the city ensures no shortage of dining or entertainment options. Accommodation is remarkably budget-friendly for a major global centre, with three-star hotel rooms averaging just £31 per night. This makes Dubai the most affordable destination in the top rankings for overnight stays.
Top 10 cities
Dubai leads the 2025 Global City Access Index with a score of 7.20, recognised for its fast airport transfers, frequent public transport, and strong amenity availability. Florence ranks second with a score of 7.17, combining 20-minute transfer times and one of the highest café and restaurant densities in the index. Prague secures third place at 7.11, supported by excellent rapid transport coverage and departures every five minutes.
Málaga and Vienna take fourth and fifth positions, both offering efficient airport connectivity and strong urban transport systems. Sydney ranks sixth, followed by Singapore in seventh, noted for its 69% rapid transport coverage. Berlin comes eighth and shares the same coverage level, while Taipei takes ninth with the highest amenity density at more than 520 venues per 100,000 residents. Amsterdam completes the top ten with frequent services and a well-developed hospitality network.
