UAE thwarts third wave of Iranian missile and drone attacks
Authorities confirm full readiness to respond to future threats
DUBAI – The United Arab Emirates (UAE) successfully intercepted a third wave of Iranian missiles and drones launched towards its territory on Saturday, authorities confirmed.
The Ministry of Defence (MoD) said UAE air defence systems neutralised the incoming threats with high efficiency, preventing any material damage or casualties this time. Debris from the intercepted missiles landed in several areas of Abu Dhabi and Dubai, including Saadiyat Island, Khalifa City, Bani Yas, Mohammed bin Zayed City, and Al Falah.

The MoD reaffirmed that the armed forces remain fully prepared to respond to any threats, underscoring that the safety of citizens, residents, and visitors remains a top priority. Authorities advised the public to follow official sources for accurate information and to avoid spreading rumours.
Official condemnation
In a statement, the Ministry condemned the missile attack as a blatant violation of national sovereignty and international law. Officials highlighted that such strikes represent a serious escalation and undermine regional stability. The UAE stressed its full right to protect its territory, people, and sovereignty, signalling that all necessary defensive and security measures are firmly in place.
Saudi Arabia, along with other regional partners, expressed strong condemnation of the attacks, denouncing Iran’s repeated aggression and reaffirming the importance of regional security and cooperation. Explosions were also reported across the Gulf, including Riyadh, Abu Dhabi, and Bahrain. Iranian missiles targeted US military facilities, prompting precautionary measures for American diplomatic personnel in the region.
Security measures
The National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority confirmed that the situation is under control and that precautionary measures remain in effect to ensure public safety. Residents were advised to stay home when necessary, follow official updates, and avoid interacting with debris or suspicious objects. Operational systems across vital sectors remain fully functional, ensuring continuity of services while prioritising public safety.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated calls for restraint and diplomatic solutions, while confirming the UAE’s right to defend itself and safeguard its national security, territorial integrity, and sovereignty.
Iran missile strikes on UAE
The third wave follows two earlier rounds of missile attacks. The first wave resulted in the tragic death of a Pakistani national, highlighting the indiscriminate nature of the strikes. In response, the UAE issued stern warnings regarding continued Iranian aggression and repeated violations of international law. Authorities emphasised that all necessary measures are in place to prevent further escalation and protect civilians.
