Dubai Garden Glow shuts after 10 years, relocation plans underway
New version expected to offer revamped, eco-conscious experience
DUBAI: After a decade of lighting up the nights in Zabeel Park, Dubai Garden Glow has officially closed its doors.
The announcement was made via the attraction’s official social media channels and website, bringing an end to one of Dubai’s most popular and visually captivating family experiences.
But fans of the beloved glow-in-the-dark park need not worry – this isn’t the end. The attraction is expected to return soon at a new location, with a completely refreshed concept already in development.
The closure comes after the successful completion of its 10th season, which drew in thousands of residents and tourists. Since opening in 2015, Dubai Garden Glow became a unique cultural fixture in the city. Known for its illuminated sculptures, life-sized animatronic dinosaurs, and eco-conscious artworks made from recycled materials, the attraction evolved into the largest glow-in-the-dark garden in the world. Its creative blend of sustainability and entertainment made it a standout venue for all age groups.
Zabeel Park revamp
The closure coincides with an ambitious redevelopment project at Zabeel Park, part of the wider Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan. This transformation includes the introduction of Therme Dubai – the Middle East’s first integrated wellness resort and interactive park. Backed by the Therme Group, the futuristic destination has been approved by Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
Spanning 500,000 square feet, the mega project will stand 100 metres tall and feature thermal pools, 15 waterslides, three cascading waterfalls, a Michelin-starred restaurant, and the world’s largest indoor botanical garden, home to over 200 plant species. An investment of Dh2 billion has been allocated to the development, with completion scheduled for 2028.
A new chapter
While the current site of Dubai Garden Glow will give way to the wellness-focused Therme Dubai, the glow park itself is preparing for a comeback. Though no reopening date or specific location has been confirmed yet, official statements hint at an "exciting new concept" that promises to build on its decade-long legacy.
