Industry leaders gather to explore green funding solutions for development
DUBAI – Azizi Developments, one of the UAE’s leading private developers, has signed a strategic agreement with Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) to strengthen sustainable real estate financing and support environmentally responsible development initiatives.
The agreement was formalised during DIB’s inaugural real estate sustainability roundtable, titled “Unlocking Sustainable Finance: Transitioning Real Estate”, bringing together key stakeholders from across the UAE property sector.
The partnership marks a step towards expanding sustainable finance solutions within the built environment, with both organisations working to encourage responsible development practices and support projects aligned with the UAE’s sustainability objectives.
The agreement was signed in the presence of Mirwais Azizi, Founder and Chairman of Azizi Developments, and Dr Adnan Chilwan, Group Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Islamic Bank. The document was signed by Farhad Azizi, Group CEO of Azizi Developments, and Naveed Ali, EVP - Head of Corporate Banking Group & Financial Institutions at DIB, at Park Hyatt Dubai.
Green finance
The collaboration aims to explore innovative financing solutions that can accelerate the adoption of sustainable practices across the real estate industry. It reflects the shared commitment of both organisations to support environmentally conscious developments while creating long-term value for communities, investors, and stakeholders.

Sustainability roundtable
The sustainability roundtable hosted by Dubai Islamic Bank brought together senior representatives from government entities, master developers, contractors, architects, engineers, and industry specialists to discuss the future of sustainable real estate and green financing in the UAE.
The event featured discussions on emerging opportunities, challenges, and solutions shaping the sector’s transition towards more sustainable practices. Participants also attended specialised workshops and technical briefings focused on data-driven retrofit financing and waste management protocols.
The sessions explored ways to encourage circular real estate practices across the UAE, including approaches to improving resource efficiency, supporting sustainable construction methods, and enhancing the role of financing in enabling environmentally responsible projects.
