Azizi Developments launches Dh75 billion hospitality push with first 5-star hotel in Dubai
New luxury property rises inside Azizi Riviera community in Mohammed Bin Rashid City
DUBAI – Azizi Developments has laid the foundation stone for its first five-star hotel in Dubai, marking the official start of the company’s Dh75 billion hospitality investment programme.
The project represents a major step in expanding the emirate’s tourism and accommodation infrastructure as visitor numbers continue to grow. Located within the Azizi Riviera community in Mohammed Bin Rashid City, the development is expected to become a new luxury hospitality destination within one of Dubai’s fastest-growing urban districts.
The hotel forms part of a broader pipeline of ten hotel developments currently in various stages of planning, design, and construction across the emirate. Azizi Developments is delivering the projects through its in-house capabilities, drawing on its integrated expertise in development, construction, and project management to oversee the entire process.
Hotel rollout
The newly launched five-star property is positioned within Azizi Riviera, a waterfront-inspired residential and lifestyle community that has rapidly become one of the most prominent developments in Mohammed Bin Rashid City. The hotel is designed to complement the area’s urban landscape, which already features residential towers, retail outlets, landscaped spaces, and leisure facilities.
The development forms part of a larger hospitality expansion led by Azizi Hospitality, the company’s dedicated hospitality division. Under this strategy, the group plans to develop a portfolio of 151 hotels across multiple luxury categories.
The planned network will include 100 four-star hotels, 50 five-star hotels, and a single seven-star property. More than 90 per cent of the hospitality portfolio will be located in Dubai, underscoring the company’s strong focus on the emirate’s tourism-driven economy.
Once completed, the hotel portfolio is expected to contribute approximately 60,000 room keys to Dubai’s hospitality sector. The expansion is also projected to generate more than 75,000 jobs across the industry, supporting employment in areas such as hotel operations, management, tourism services, and hospitality training.
Landmark tower
One of the centrepieces of the hospitality portfolio will be a seven-star hotel located within Burj Azizi, an upcoming landmark skyscraper planned for Sheikh Zayed Road. The tower is expected to become the world’s second tallest building once completed, positioning itself as a new architectural icon in Dubai’s skyline.
The ultra-luxury hotel within the tower aims to introduce a globally recognised hospitality destination, further strengthening Dubai’s reputation for large-scale architectural ambition and premium tourism experiences. The project is expected to attract international visitors seeking high-end accommodation within a landmark setting.
Dubai’s hospitality sector continues to expand alongside the emirate’s broader tourism strategy, which focuses on increasing visitor numbers, extending average stays, and strengthening its position as a global travel hub connecting Europe, Asia, and Africa.
Industry training
As part of the broader hospitality initiative, Azizi Developments also plans to establish the Azizi Hospitality Academy. The training institution will focus on developing skilled professionals for the UAE’s growing hotel and tourism sectors.
The academy is designed to equip future hospitality workers with internationally recognised training standards, helping support the industry with a steady pipeline of qualified talent. The initiative aligns with wider efforts to strengthen the UAE’s workforce capabilities in tourism and service industries.
Mirwais Azizi, Founder and Chairman of Azizi Developments, highlighted Dubai’s long-standing appeal for global investors and developers.
“Dubai has consistently proven itself to be one of the world’s most stable, forward-looking and opportunity-rich destinations,” he said. “The emirate’s leadership has created an environment that inspires confidence among investors and developers, enabling bold projects that contribute to its global standing.”
He added that the Dh75 billion hospitality investment reflects the company’s long-term commitment to the emirate and confidence in its economic trajectory.
“Our Dh75 billion investment in hospitality reflects our long-term commitment to Dubai and our strong belief in its continued growth as a global tourism hub,” Azizi said.
He also emphasised that the initiative aligns with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to strengthen the emirate’s tourism sector and attract visitors from around the world.
Through its planned developments, Azizi Developments aims to introduce a diverse range of hospitality experiences across multiple market segments while contributing to the continued expansion of Dubai’s tourism ecosystem.
