Dubai: CULINARA unveils first Diwali in the sky with food and music
Exclusive menus blend Lebanese and Indian flavours by Chef Ali El Bourji
DUBAI – From 17th to 26th October 2025, CULINARA at The Link, One Za’abeel, is set to host its debut Diwali celebration – a ten-day experience of flavours, lights, and music high above the city.
The event marks the first Festival of Lights to be celebrated at Dubai’s elevated dining hub, bringing together cuisine, culture, and community 100 metres in the air.
CULINARA, known for its collection of 12 homegrown culinary concepts, will transform into a glowing space adorned with gold, rangoli, and floral motifs.
Guests can explore a celebration designed to highlight creativity, connection, and culinary craftsmanship against a panoramic skyline backdrop.
What’s on the menu?
Leading the dining showcase is FAY by Chef Ali El Bourji, who introduces a Diwali menu fusing Lebanese and Indian influences. Signature dishes include Falafel Chaat topped with tahini yogurt and tamarind chutney, Tabbouleh with Mango and Curry Leaf, and Hummus with Masala Papad.
For mains, the Lamb Kofta Curry, simmered in an aromatic Indian-style gravy, reflects the chef’s signature flair for merging regional traditions. Dessert takes a festive turn with Cardamom and Honey Mahalabiya layered with almond crumble and pistachios – a sweet finish capturing the spirit of the season.
Adding a familiar warmth to the celebration, Project Chaiwala – the UAE’s homegrown tea brand known for reimagining the chai experience – brings an exclusive Diwali pop-up to CULINARA throughout the ten days.
Guests can enjoy steaming cups of Karak chai paired with a curated menu of street food favourites. Highlights include Smashmosa in three flavours, innovative buns and toasts inspired by nostalgic classics, desserts infused with chai flavours, and festive gift hampers.
“Diwali has always been about connection, gathering with loved ones over food, laughter, and of course, chai,” said Co-Founders Justin Jeff Joseph and Ahmed Kazim. “Being part of CULINARA’s Diwali celebration allows us to share that spirit of comfort and nostalgia with everyone.”
When does the music begin?
The festival reaches its crescendo on Saturday, 25th October, with Diwali Night, a high-energy performance by DJ Buddha. Known for blending Bollywood, house, and international beats, the acclaimed DJ will take the stage from 8:00 PM to 11:30 PM.
Guests can dance under a canopy of lights, surrounded by panoramic views of Dubai’s glittering skyline, as the city’s culinary landmark turns into an open-air dance floor. The night promises to capture the essence of Diwali – unity, rhythm, and celebration shared among the stars.
