ATM 2025: Yas Waterworld unveils 12 new rides including UAE’s tallest waterslide
Expansion supports Abu Dhabi’s tourism and economic diversification goals
DUBAI: A major summer expansion is on the horizon for Yas Waterworld Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, as Miral unveiled the exciting development at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2025 in Dubai.
The upgrade promises an immersive new themed zone and 12 fresh rides and slides, designed to deliver exhilarating experiences for all ages. The expansion also includes enhanced dining offerings and a brand-new storyline, adding depth and thrill to the much-loved park.
Guests can expect a new chapter in the Yas Waterworld journey through The Lost City, an imaginative continuation of the park’s existing Legend of the Lost Pearl theme. This mysterious realm invites explorers to uncover hidden treasures and secret water-filled passages intricately woven into the new attractions. The expansion brings the total number of rides, slides, and attractions at the park to over 57, further solidifying its reputation as a premier water destination in the region.
Family adventures
Designed with families in mind, the new rides include Al Sahel Junior, the region’s first mini zero-gravity boomerango slide, offering dramatic drops and thrilling turns for younger visitors. Dawwama Junior, a scaled-down version of Yas Waterworld’s iconic tornado slide, delivers swirling fun in a more approachable format. Children can also race side-by-side on Rimal Racer, bringing out the competitive spirit in splash-filled style.
For family bonding, Mataha Madness offers a maze of twists and turns, while Sadaf Swirl spins riders into a whirlpool of aquatic excitement. Thrill-seekers will find their adrenaline rush in Bahamut’s Rage, a high-thrill log flume ride packed with steep drops and splashes. Meanwhile, the all-new Bandit’s Playground, located in the expanded Bandit’s Village, provides a dynamic splash zone filled with interactive elements, rides, and surprises tailored for little adventurers.
UAE’s highest waterslide
Among the standout additions is the UAE’s highest waterslide, promising an unmatched view — just before a thrilling descent. Visitors can also experience the GCC’s first amusement ride integrated within a waterpark, featuring a dramatic 15-metre shared plunge experienced with 19 fellow riders, making it a group adventure like no other.
