DUBAI – Dubai Police’s General Department of Airport Security at Terminal 1 successfully returned a handbag containing silver bars valued at approximately Dh2 million to an Asian passenger after a swift and coordinated operation.
The incident unfolded when the passenger reported the missing black handbag before boarding his flight, prompting immediate action from airport security teams.
Authorities quickly initiated a detailed search across the departure hall, ensuring all possible areas were covered through coordinated deployment.
Rapid action
A foot patrol officer conducting a routine security sweep in the departure hall first received the report of the missing bag. The operations room immediately reviewed the passenger’s movements within the terminal. Following the assessment, multiple patrol teams were dispatched to search systematically across key zones of the airport.
The bag was soon located and secured by the patrol teams. Upon verification, it was confirmed to contain silver bars worth approximately Dh2 million.
Ownership documents were checked before the item was officially returned with proper legal procedures and documentation.
